UPDATE - 18.06.20

Louth Livestock Market - Coronavirus (Covid-19)

We are closely monitoring the government announcements and are adhering to the advice of the Livestock Auctioneers Association with a view to future sales to be held at Louth Livestock Market.

Please note that the auction will be live streamed on the markets Facebook page -

Customers attending the market are asked to maintain the required two meter distance from market staff and other vendors, regularly use the hand sanitising and washing facilities in market and be mindful of all government advice on social distancing.

All paperwork will be sent to you by first class post, thereby reaching you in a time efficient manner.  If you choose to supply your email address to market, we can email statements and related documentation on the day.  Please send details of your trading name and relevant email to so that we can update your details.

We currently expect to be able to run a compliant public cattle auction using livestreaming  technology and telephone bidding  for those buyers who can’t attend.  A further contingency plan is also in place to enable our vendors to sell their stock at market tested prices via Louth Livestock Market in the event of further public health restrictions being put in place. We are working hard to ensure we can be of service to all our clients at this difficult time for everyone and thank you for much valued custom.

In addition, we would advise that anyone who is considered to be in the at-risk category i.e. the elderly (anyone over 70 years old) and anyone with a pre-existing underlying health condition does not attend the market.  This is government legislation and we are obliged to follow instruction.

We request that anyone showing any of the symptoms such as fever, shortness of breath or a dry cough do not attend the market nor does anyone who has visited a high-risk area abroad or in the past 14 days has come into contact with a positive Coronavirus case.

If you attend market, you do so at your own risk.  We would expect strict adherence to the hand washing and sanitising guidelines.
